Emission Factors and Uncertainties for CH4 and N2O from Fuel Combustion (2000)

Client: Environment Canada – Pollution Data Branch, GHG Division.

SGA compiled and documented methane and Nitrous Oxide emission factors for fuel combustion from stationary and mobile sources for use in Canada’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory. At the same time we determined EF uncertainty levels based on the Expert Elicitation process defined by IPCC procedures.

This study updated and improved the characterization of CH4 and N20 emission factors related to fuel combustion in both stationary and mobile sources. Specifically, the objectives of this study are two-fold:

  • Based on published sources, develop and document revised emission factors for methane and nitrous oxide for fuel combustion.
  • Develop and document uncertainty estimates associated with the emission factors.

Final Report available from SGA Energy.
