SGA developed a program and technology specifications for power systems at six repeater stations in the Canadian High Arctic. The systems were to be entirely powered by batteries charged by photovoltaic modules. SGA conducted a feasibility analysis to establish the technical and economic feasibility of replacing existing non-rechargeable ZnAir batteries with a combination of solar panels and lead acid rechargeable batteries under extreme temperature conditions.
